Professional Article Review-Animation

Professional Article Review-Animation

In the article it mainly describes how to get yourself started in After Effects. The article tells you how you should set key frames, render, and move objects. The author does no provide an argument he just lists how to use after effects. The authors strengths is explaining in detail how to use the program. But his weakness he portrays is not providing enough information about how to start the project. He just expects you to understand how to start it. The authors general conclusions the he lists is to just have fun with the project and not get frustrated! My critique would be that the author needs to list reasons why after effects is helpful for animating. But I will use After effects for my projects in class!

The scope of the movie Finding Dory was to add another movie to the sequel of Finding Nemo. The purpose of the movie was to enlighten children minds and entertain them. The story that was told was how the blue fish, Dory, got lost from her home. She was lost at a young age and she forgets things easily so when she was trying to find her way back she could not remember. An element I would apply to my work would be the different variations of color the movie includes. With all the bright colors it makes the movie more interesting. One element I have already learned is the use of the puppet tool that the movie used often. The creator made creative graphics and included many new and interesting characters. I think the work does not need to be improved because it is such a good movie in general! Overall I though the movie was very cute and almost all children would love it!

Technical Tutorial Post-Animation

Tutorial-Animation
The skill I am teaching is how to render out your animation in Maya software. The purpose of this skill is to remember how to render when you are finished with your work. You need this skill memorized so you do not have to look it up every time you are ready to render. A student would use this technique because it would help them understand Maya software better.
1) Make sure your Maya workspace is set in Modeling-Standard

2) Check to make sure your top bar of Maya matches this screenshot below

3) Change the little drop down tab from Modeling to rendering

4) The top of your Maya should now match the screen shot below

5) Last step is to go to the render tab > Batch render (Another Maya square will pop up and a little movie tab will pop up on the bottom of your screen. This lets you know that the movie is being rendered!)

Personal Project review-Animation

The scope of this project was to work on our animating skills in Maya Software. Our project was to make snowflakes fall from a window to make it look like it was a snowy morning. My process to make this project was to first go through the tutorials that were given then to slowly follow each step carefully to make the best project I could make. I learned how to increase my animating skills and learned how to adjust vertices to mirror an odd shape. Professionally I learned how to collaborate with the people I sit next too which helped when I had small questions. What I would different would have been to make more snowflakes to make it a continuous heavy snow. What I would do the same would be the lighting because the spotlight lighting gave a good effect to the corner of the wall. I will withdraw the animating for my next projects because I think it will help with the effect of my future projects.
