Tutorial-Video

"How to" Blog:Video

The skill for this blog that I will teach is how to make a clip slower or faster for a nice effect. The purpose for this "How to" is to teach someone how to make a clip more interesting. They could either make it slower and give it a sense of humor or make it faster to save time. The intended audience of this tutorial is mainly kids in my class because some of them ask and some of them go on google so I am trying to save their time by just telling them to go to my blog.

Step 1-Select a clip of choice to make slower or faster

Step 2-Right click your selected clip and scroll up to Speed Duration

Step 3-This little box will pop up and you change the percentage. Right now it is set to 100%. To slow it you should lower it to about 50% and to speed it up you should set it higher like 120%.

Personal Project review-Video

Featured review

For this project we were told that we needed to come up with a featured story. After brainstorming different ideas I nailed it down to the pressure of student athletes. I tried to mainly focus on students here at northwest that live the busy lifestyle. I tried to dig the deep details out of students by interviewing some of them. My process for completing this video was the initial idea, interviewing, and taking b-roll. I learned how to sequence the clips together with the help of Mr.Cooper. Professionally, I learned how to get correct b-roll for my video to help to make sense. What I would different would be getting more b-roll and remembering to turn on the sound so I could get some natural noise in my video. What I would do the same would be the interviews because I felt like my interviews were very strong throughout the whole video. The experiences that I will draw from this video would be the out of school video shooting which I found was very tiring because I had to do a lot of walking around the school.

Interview Review blog

Interview Review

Our latest assignment we were given was to do an interview with someone in our class. My process that I proceeded to do was to first do my actual interview with my partner Courtney Honors. I talked with Courtney about her summer trip and moved on once I got the right information. Once I had all my clips I made a script that matched with the topics from the interview. After I completed my voice overs and embedded them into my video I realized that the video is missing something called B-roll. B-roll taught me that It helps bring the video together and make it more organized. I learned that it is difficult to get B-roll when the event has already happened. For my next interview I will make sure my voice over doesn't just ask the questions and then the interviewee answer them. What I would do the same would be to include B-roll which will help make the video make more sense. The experiences I will draw from this project will be the face-to-face interview which defiantly helps with life skills.

Procedure video review

Procedure Video Review

The scope of our first project was to make a procedure video explaining one of the conducts in the Olathe Northwest student agenda. The process of making this video was first planning with a partner. We had to search for a procedure to perform and use storyboards to give our self's an image of which shots will be taken. After the planning we went to the field to shoot the right shots and get the correct angles. Once that was completed we took it back to Mr.Cooper's room and started editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. Once the clips were trimmed, music was entered in, and special effects were displayed my video was complete. During the process I luckily learned how to use our new HD cameras and also learned how to find my way around Premiere Pro. Not only did I learn the technology but I learned how to collaborate better with my partner and learned to listen to their ideas as well. What I would do different the next time would be to get ALL of the shots instead of just medium shots because my video was mostly medium which made it sort of plain. What I would do the same would be giving my video a little bit of humor like slow motion or silly music. The experiences that I gained during the project will definitely help with future projects throughout the year because instead of having to learn all new material which I did this time around hopefully the process will be quicker. In conclusion I am happy with my work but am also ready to learn more about the process of video making.

Reflection

Reflection

My team name was LIT and our product was a Shwamock. We collaborated as a group well and discussed deadlines. We struggled most with timing of some projects and creativeness. The next group project we do I think we should be more efficient. I would not change anything besides deadlines and the underestimating of our groups capabilities. I have improved in video design because I learned new tools. I worked on the video, logo, and presentation.

Invasive Species Website

Invasive Species

For the Invasive Species website we had to use so many tools I had no idea that all of those even existed. I think the hardest part was making sure all the coding was right.

The Houston

"The Houston"

This house I made over the past couple of weeks has been quite a challenge. Even though I had some trouble with the house I still ended up with a pretty decent outcome.

Below is a 3D animation of the whole house:
